What We're Working on Now:
General Plan Policies
At their June 21, 2018 meeting, the GPAC reviewed the Land Use and Economic Development and Resource Conservation draft guiding policies.
We're working on drafting policies for each of the General Plan elements, which will be reviewed by the GPAC over the course of three meetings. The draft policies for the Public Facilities and Services, Community Health and Sustainability, and Safety elements will be discussed at the next GPAC meeting on August 16, 2018.

The General Plan Update process consists of eight main tasks. Here is the project status for each:
|1. Project Initiation and Community Involvement Strategy||Complete|
|2. Issue Identification and Key Strategies||Complete|
|3. Existing Conditions, Trends, and Opportunities Assessment||Complete|
|5. Preferred Plan and Key Goals||Complete|
|6. Draft General Plan and Climate Action Plan||Underway|
|7. Draft and Final General Plan EIR||Not Begun|

At each stage, there are opportunities for community involvement and input. Community workshops are held for many tasks, and information about the General Plan will be available at venues and events around town. A General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) meets regularly to discuss issues and advise decision-makers; all are welcome to attend GPAC meetings. Study sessions of the City Council and the Planning Commission, focusing specifically on the General Plan Update process, are held periodically and are also open to the public. Additionally, questions or comments about the plan and process are welcome at any time. Please see the Project Schedule for more information on the project timeline.
